Man Arrested After Alleged Hit-and-Run in Paisley

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged hit-and-run that tragically claimed the life of 70-year-old Elizabeth Kennedy in Paisley on Hogmanay.

The incident occurred at about 19:00 on 31 December on Barrhead Road, near the junction with Ladykirk Crescent. Ms Kennedy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of a white car, believed to have been involved in the incident, fled the area immediately after the collision.

The arrested man has been released while further inquiries continue. Police investigations are ongoing.
