Police Investigation Underway in Coatbridge

Police are probing the unexplained death of a 51-year-old man whose body was discovered on a cycle path behind a supermarket in North Lanarkshire.

Emergency services were called around 7.30am after reports of an unresponsive man near the Tesco store at Faraday Retail Park, Coatbridge. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers confirmed that extensive enquiries are under way. A spokesperson said police remain in the area and urged anyone with information or concerns to speak to officers.

The man’s family is being supported, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
