Detectives investigating the death of a man in South Lanarkshire have arrested a suspect.
Iain Kennedy, 32, was discovered seriously injured at a property on Fairholm Street, Larkhall, around 22:00 on Saturday.
Despite being taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, Mr Kennedy, who was from the town, later died from his injuries.
Police Scotland confirmed that a 27-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident. The suspect was expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
In a statement, Mr Kennedy’s family described him as “a much-loved brother, son, and friend,” adding: “He will be missed by all who knew him, and we kindly ask for privacy as we come to terms with our loss.”
Detective Inspector Mark Dines said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Kennedy’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Officers continue to provide support to his loved ones.”
Chief Inspector Neil Smith, the local area commander, assured residents that additional patrols would be conducted to reassure the community.
