North Lanarkshire to Demolish 48 Lock-Up Garages

Due to low demand, North Lanarkshire council are to demolish 48 lock up garages in Watson Street, Motherwell.

Councillors approved the project to remove the lock-ups after seeing exacerbated problems with anti-social behaviour and vandalism.

A report presented to the housing committee stated that as the lock-ups are designed to face away from housing, providing shelter for those engaging in undesirable activity, while the site would be more useful if it were converted to parking spaces.
