June 13, 2025

As stories come in surrounding the tragic and devastating Air India plane crash this week, a story of a lucky escape came to the forefront.

Bhoomi Chauhan , a 28 year old student was in India and had been feeling frustrated when traffic delayed her journey to the airport. Busy traffic which made her miss her planned Air India flight to London Gatwick by just 10 minutes.

Ms Chauhan, a business administration student who lives in Bristol with her husband, had been visiting western India for a holiday and was due to return home on Thursday.

She was turned away at the airport for being too late as the plane sat on the runway waiting to take off. The plane later crashed shortly after take-off, killing 241 people on board and more on the ground.

The air accident was one of the worst in aviation history with families still seeking answers. Our thoughts are with all the families of the victims.
