Car Accident Disrupts Rail Services in Greater Manchester

Significant travel disruption has occurred after a car crashed through a rail bridge and landed on the tracks in Greater Manchester.

The incident took place around 2am on Friday near the Regent Road roundabout in Eccles, Salford.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Images from the scene show the car overturned and surrounded by debris. It was later lifted from the tracks and removed.
