August 29, 2025

This is a reminder to check and review your home security!

There have been reports in East Kilbride of 2 suspicious males attending properties looking in windows and around the exterior of the property, thereafter chapping the door and if householder answers stating they are doing work in a neighbouring property and there may be noise. They then leave in a van.

Here is some advice to make your home more secure:

🚪Keep all doors and windows locked and secured, even when you are home.

💡 Use timer switches for lights when your home is unoccupied.

👀 Check your security lighting is working and where possible use dusk to dawn lighting around the exterior of your property.

🤳 Make sure your social media is secure and avoid posts highlighting you are away from home or that you have high value items within your home.

🔒 Ensure you lock away any valuables out of clear sight.

If you notice any suspicious activity around yours or your neighbours homes contact police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
