Sadly, a 16-year-old boy from East Kilbride has died following a stabbing at Irvine Beach on Saturday evening.

Emergency services responded around 6:45pm after reports of a violent brawl, but sadly, he could not be saved. Police Scotland has launched an extensive investigation and is appealing for any video footage from bystanders that may assist their inquiries. The boy’s family is being supported during this heartbreaking time. We hope those who have done this feel the full force of justice.

In a separate incident, a teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a stabbing at Portobello Beach, Edinburgh, on Friday night.
