Fatality in street at Douglas

A 35-year-old man has died after a disturbance on a street in South Lanarkshire.

Police were called to reports of an incident on Springhill Street in Douglas at around 20:35 on Sunday.

Emergency services also attended, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed, and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Police Scotland have confirmed the death is being treated as suspicious, and enquiries are ongoing.
