Police are appealing for witnesses after a man allegedly tried to choke a woman on a train travelling from Dalmuir to Larkhall.
The incident happened at around 7.15pm on Monday, 3 November, before the suspect left the service at Blantyre railway station.
Officers later arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of domestic assault.
Anyone who saw the incident is urged to contact British Transport Police.
