Impact of Santander’s Bank Closures in North Lanarkshire

April 6, 2025

Two bank closures will happen in North Lanarkshire this Summer.

Santander will close their branches permanently in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire – July 7 and Wishaw, North Lanarkshire – July 22.

The Spanish company is scrapping 10 offices in Scotland, starting in June, as it looks to trim its presence in the UK.

The closure of the branches will put about 750 jobs at risk across the UK – more than 4% of its 18,000 workforce. It is only one of several banks doing the same.

Have your say. Does this closure affect you?
