Just like the flick of a switch when the clocks changed, it brought dry, fine and sunny weather to Lanarkshire and indeed the rest of Scotland. But how long can it last?
The current forecast is for the high pressure to remain dominant well into next week, with no rain expected until after next weekend.
That’s not the best news for our farmers, growers and gardeners who are relying on rainfall at this time of year. After a dry March which only delivered 64% of the normal rainfall for the month, dry conditions could start to become a problem. Scottish Water had put on an early alert after noticing a drop in the water table in general.
This week will see dry, settled weather with no rain expected , temperatures climbing and protracted long spells of sunshine. Make the most of it!
