60 Jobs at Risk as George Hotel Enters Administration

April 2, 2025

A historic family-run hotel in Argyll and Bute has entered administration, placing 60 local jobs at risk.

The George Hotel in Inveraray, owned by the Clark family for seven generations, has been a fixture in the community for 165 years. It was put up for sale last year.

Situated on the shores of Loch Fyne, the hotel and restaurant is a popular destination for both locals and visitors.

Administrators have confirmed that the business will continue to operate as usual while efforts to secure a new owner are underway.
