Demolition of Jimmy Savile’s Cottage: What’s Next?

March 7, 2025

Demolition has begun on a cottage in the Highlands that was once owned by Jimmy Savile.

Savile, later exposed as one of Britain’s most prolific sex offenders, owned Allt-na-Reigh cottage in Glen Coe from 1998 until his death in 2011.

The property, located on the A82, has been repeatedly vandalised since details of his crimes came to light and was further damaged by a fire last month.

The new owner has received planning permission to tear down the single-storey building and construct a new four-bedroom, one-and-a-half-storey house in its place.
