Body Found in Search for Missing Runner in County Durham

February 23, 2025

A body has been discovered during a forest search for a runner who went missing five days ago, police have confirmed.

Jenny Hall, 23, was last seen leaving her home at Barracks Farm, Tow Law, County Durham, on Tuesday shortly after 15:00 GMT.

Her red Ford Focus was found parked on the B6278 between Eggleston and Stanhope on Wednesday.

Durham Police reported that Ms Hall’s body was located in a “very remote area of Teesdale” at around 09:30 GMT on Sunday.

While formal identification is yet to be completed, her family has been informed.

Police are not treating her death as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner. Our thoughts are with Jenny’s family and friends at this sad time.
