Ed Archer Receives MBE for Heritage Research in Lanark

A prominent figure in Lanark has been honoured with an MBE in the King’s New Year Honours for five decades of heritage research and community work.

Ed Archer, the long-serving chair of the Lanark and District Archaeological Society, is a former South Lanarkshire councillor and volunteer development officer who also dedicated nearly 30 years to teaching at Biggar High School. He expressed his pride in receiving the prestigious recognition.
