Residents wanted for New Community Council

Nominations are now being sought for anyone wishing to stand for election to the new Crawford and Elvanfoot Community Council.

The election comes after a valid petition to establish a Community Council for the area was submitted under the terms of South Lanarkshire Council’s Scheme for establishment of Community Councils

If you think you have what it takes to represent your local community then please complete this nomination form. Deadline for nominations is no later than 4pm on Wednesday 24 June 2026.

Any person on the Register of Electors for the Crawford and Elvanfoot area who seeks election to their Community Council, should lodge a completed, signed nomination form which should be counter signed by a proposer and seconder, both of whom should also be on the Register of Electors for this community council area.

Completed nomination forms should be emailed to communitycouncils@southlanarkshire.gov.uk or posted to:Administration and Legal Services

Printed nomination forms are also available from Administration and Legal Services as are the boundary map (below) of the Crawford and Elvanfoot Community Council area and the Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils. You can also phone 01698 454196 to request these.

In the event of more valid nominations being received than vacancies available, an election will be held. Notification of any election will be provided in due course.
