ScotRail has confirmed its Christmas and New Year timetable, with last services on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay finishing earlier than usual.
On Boxing Day, additional trains will operate between Aberdeen and Edinburgh Waverley, and between Arbroath and Edinburgh Waverley.
In the lead-up to Christmas, passengers can expect extra services and increased capacity across the network, including longer trains and more late-night weekend services on key routes.
Engineering work will take place over the festive period, and ScotRail is urging customers to plan journeys in advance.
On Christmas Eve, trains will run as normal until around 7pm, after which services will gradually reduce. As in previous years, there will be no train services on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.
