South Lanarkshire Council has unveiled a bold £62.2 million redevelopment of East Kilbride’s town centre.
Over a third of the existing high street will be razed to make space for a 40,000 sq ft supermarket, hotel, and vibrant public square.
The project also includes a residential-led, mixed-use expansion around Centre West—with civic spaces, community facilities, offices and homes. Architect Stefano Faiella emphasises collaboration with local residents through open forums at East Kilbride Library.
This long-awaited transformation aims to inject new life into the “Polo Mint City” and redefine its future.
