Essential Upgrades at Time Capsule Waterpark: Six-Month Closure

February 17, 2025

The popular Time Capsule waterpark in Coatbridge is set to close temporarily for six months to allow essential maintenance work to take place.

Only the waterpark section will be affected, with other facilities, including the swimming pool and ice rink, remaining open. Announcing the closure on social media, Active North Lanarkshire stated:

“Our popular waterpark attraction at the Time Capsule will close for up to six months from 3 March 2025 to allow essential upgrades to take place. The work will include improvements to the water feature systems, control panels, and electrical systems, as well as replacing the pumps.

“During this period, all other facilities, including the 25m swimming pool, ice rink, and gym, will remain open as usual.”

The Time Capsule is one of Lanarkshire’s most visited leisure attractions, welcoming over 700,000 visitors each year.
