Police have launched an investigation following an assault on two females and a subsequent fire at a flat.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 4.05 pm on Mill Road, Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire. A 41-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl were attacked and later taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. Both have since been discharged.
Following the assault, a man barricaded himself inside a flat, where a fire was started. He exited the property via the balcony and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.
A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police inquiries are ongoing, and officers are appealing to the public for assistance as they work to establish the full circumstances.
