Get Walking Lanarkshire

January 22, 2026

Join Get Walking Lanarkshire on one of their regular health walks! Enjoy the fresh air, meet new people and have a good blether!

Walking is a great form of exercise. It is free, most people can do it, you don’t need any special equipment and walking has many health benefits.

To encourage people to walk more often we run a programme of weekly health walks covering both North and South Lanarkshire.

All walks are free, short and gentle and last no longer than one hour. Everybody is welcome to join and the walks are particularly suitable for people who are not very active, people with a health condition, recovering from illness or injury and people who cannot walk any distance or at speed.

The walking routes are easy, uneven paths and steep inclines are avoided. With a walk leader at the front and at the back, you can walk at your own pace and nobody will be left behind.

Joining a health walk is a great way to meet new people, explore your local area and get healthier and happier at the same time.

Visit the Get Walking Lanarkshire website for the current timetable of walks. https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/leisure-parks-and-culture/countryside-and-parks/outdoor-access/get-walking-lanarkshire/health-walks-timetable
