Cows Washed Up

January 1, 2025

A dog walker on Troon Beach encountered a grim sight after discovering two dead cows washed up on the shoreline.

The animals, identified as Friesian cows, were found along a section of South Beach on Monday, December 30. Authorities have issued warnings following the discovery, though it remains unclear whether the cows originated from a nearby farm or drifted in from further away. Local farmers have been urged to check their herd numbers as investigations continue.
